SUMMARY:3 Day White-Line Wood Cut Printing Workshop with Fred Dylla
DESCRIPTION:The woodcut artist\, Fred Dylla\, proposes to teach a 3-day course on the art of the white-line woodcut. This unique art form produces full-color prints from a single carved wood block.\n \nTwo unique characteristics of the art form are the ability to produce a full color print from a single carved wood block and the unique character of each print that picks up the texture of both the wood block and the printing paper.\nThe artist will demonstrate the technique from initial conceptual drawing\, various techniques for transferring the drawing to a wood block\, the carving of key outlines of the woodblock drawing\, to painting the block and finally transferring the image to the printing paper. By the end of the day\, some students may begin the printing process. The third day of the class will be used for painting and printing. A modest sized print (8” x 11”) can typically be completed.\n \nRegistration:\n$175 Members\, $219 Non-Members\nplus $35 material fee\n
